Students at DL-B are taking a positive attitude challenge

Keeping a positive attitude can be harder than it looks, students at Des Lacs-Burlington High School are discovering.

Students have taken a challenge to keep a positive attitude and avoid making negative comments. They wear plastic bracelets on their right wrists until they slip up and say something negative. Then they have to switch it to the left wrist for the rest of the day. Theyre on the honor system. Only the one wearing the bracelet can decide whether a comment is negative and warrants switching the bracelet to the left wrist.

I had mine until nine oclock last night and then my sister ... said student Karalyn Kester. She started anew Friday morning, but then her brother provoked her and she had to switch the bracelet back to the left wrist.

Kids arent entirely sure whether theyre supposed to wear the bracelet at home as well as at school.
